Iran to Permanently Suspend Google's Email

According to the WSJ, Iran is dumping access to Gmail and starting their own state-run email service, to “build trust between people and the government.” Fantastic idea.

Researchers identify command servers behind Google attack

“Citing sources in the defense contracting and intelligence consulting community, the iDefense report unambiguously declares that the Chinese government was, in fact, behind the effort.”

“If the report’s findings are correct, it suggest that the government of China has been engaged for months in a massive campaign of industrial espionage against US companies.”

Is anyone shocked? Probably not.

Google, Citing Attack, Threatens to Exit China

“Google linked its decision to sophisticated cyberattacks on its computer systems that it suspected originated in China and that were aimed, at least in part, at the Gmail user accounts of Chinese human rights activists.”

What the article doesn’t tell you is that the attacks were orchestrated by the Chinese government.

Fuck ‘em.
